Book Jacket Design: Tribute to crime novels.

Tribute design project!

I have been teaching book jacket design to my students for so long and thought what a great way to re-engage with the project than to pick an all-time favorite author Tana French and re-design three of her six crime novels in her Dublin murder squad series.  If you have not had the pleasure to read them, please do!

Finals for the book jackets to come and videos of my process and how I teach this lesson too!

Sabbatical

Normally in two weeks time, I would be busy prepping for my new classes and catching up with colleagues about their summers.  I have been given this wonderful gift (thank you Brad) of a self-imposed sabbatical to work solely on my paintings. Amazing right!? I would be lying if I said I was not completely off balance, as I set up my new space ( where do I put everything?)in a new city (where do I find everything?), 22 years of teaching with no break really creates a routine!  As a way to keep my process going and hold my self-accountable, I will be posting my year off in my teaching blog.
